Monday's Musings

"Writing is a form of personal freedom. It frees us from the mass identity we see in the making all around us. In the end, writers will write not to be outlaw heroes of some underculture but mainly to save themselves, to survive as individuals." ~ Don Delillo

A quote to chew slowly, savor, let swallow at it's own pace. Digest, ruminate, and regurgitate.

Happy Monday,
Jen

Fabulous quote. Yes, I write to survive. It saved my sanity when I lost custody of my son and now it keeps me sane. If it also helps others, that's a bonus.
blessings,
karen

wow. great quote. i have often felt that writing is therapeutic. if i did not get it out, it would be stuck in my head...which i am afraid would ultimately explode...leaving a terrible mess for my wife to clean up. smiles.

Yes, I should wear a t-shirt while I write that says save the authors. Great quote!

That one is going to sit in my stomach for a long time. Then, I'll do what they did in the Dark Ages and go to a vomitorium (sp.) and release it on others...although it will come out much prettier than vomit.

In other words, I love it. ;D

When I told my brother the truth of my marriage (and ultimate divorce), he said, "You have your friends, your faith, and your writing to get you through this." He was right. Thanks, James!
